salt 1/4

i am getting salt
i take my canoe to the river
then i’ll go down into the water
start collection salt and put it in the canoe
i stay in the water for hours
i enter the water with a long stick, a basket
and shovel to dig the salt at the bottom
the canoe takes me onto the water
that’s where i hold the salt i collect
one day the fish started dying
and we wondered if there was salt
then we realised that the river
has turned completely salty
and that we could dig salt
